Brownie Camera

Brownie Camera

My great grandfather, Leonard G. Westland, loved photography and kept his small black and white photos in albums. He captured everything in his environment in Ontario, Canada. His photos are of landscapes, homes, buildings, bridges, family, and he liked to photograph lightening when possible. Perhaps I inheirited his vision -- as a child, I carried my little Brownie camera around, photographing friends and family. I later acquired better cameras, but remained a casual shutterbug - nothing serious. When I moved from California (my birth State) to Washington in 1997 I became captivated by the rampant beauty and special quality of light at these latitudes; in this process I have become passionate about wilderness and wildlife conservation as well as photography. Some of my images have been published; and I have sold many framed pieces on consignment in local retail businesses. I share my photos wherever and whenever I am able; for me, they contain many precious memories. Perhaps they will inspire and motivate you to explore our wonderful world and capture special memories of your own.
