This in-depth exploration of photographic lighting for making memorable portraits will cover both the use of strobe light and of natural light to achieve lighting that describes the features in a way appropriate to the intended feeling of the portrait. Using professional strobe lighting and a variety of light modifiers, from reflectors to soft boxes to gridded spots, we will demonstrate and apply lighting that softens or hardens the subject's features, and draws attention to their personality. The relationship of subject to background, and the necessary lighting, will also be addressed. We will have young actors to photograph, and every participant will work in turn with 4 different lighting scenarios, taking home a wide range of images, ready to be included in your new portfolio! We will discuss and practice establishing rapport and collaborating with your subjects, as well as a short overview of the digital post-processing workflow.Experience:
