Ortlieb's range of PS 490 Dry Bags are made from one of their strongest heavy-duty fabrics, meaning they can withstand just about anything. Highly recommended by Ray Mears himself, these bags have been put to the test on many a canoeing trip over the years by Ray and are still going strong. As with all Ortlieb dry bags, the PS 490 range is perfect for protecting your clothing, food or sleeping equipment when you're up against the elements. They can be used as a waterproof liner for non-watertight rucksacks, or for organising your gear inside a larger pack when travelling. Where the PS 490 range excels though is in situations where your dry bags will be used on their own - rather than inside a holdall or rucksack - and are therefore taking the brunt of your adventures. Thanks to their supremely tough outer fabric, these bags can be dragged in and out of canoes, across rocky river banks and carried through thick brush on the trails without any problems. They are therefore ideal for your more heavy-duty trips. Completely watertight thanks to a reinforced roll-down closure, they also feature tough D-rings allowing you to secure the bags inside your boat or luggage rack. A strong, fabric loop is fitted to the base panel for anchoring or holding when unpacking. This 79 litre version also features a carry handle for ease of use.
