Leica

Leica

It is a technology and marketing partnership. The initial phase of the collaboration focuses on the innovation and integration of Veeco's BioScope II Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) with Leica's DMI series of inverted light microscopes with the benefit of imaging, probing & manipulating biological systems: from the living cell down to single molecules. In this way both companies support high resolution imaging for biological and nanomedical research applications to investigate ways to impact human health. The BioScope II is well designed to fit into the optical path of the Leica DMI inverted microscope without compromising optical functions. The open, ergonomic design of the BioScope II allows all transmitted light contrasting, fluorescence illumination and combined techniques. The BioScope II XY-scanning sample stage provides a dynamic range of scan sizes. To permit imaging of taller biological structures, such as cells, the BioScope II offers a Z range greater than 15µm. Meanwhile, an X-Y range that exceeds 150µm lets users better match cell/sample size to scan area and easily correlate AFM data with optical/fluorescence images.
